Responders

At the end of 2001, the department made the transistion from all volunteer to a combination department with some full-time firefighters and paramedics along with the addition of some part-time staff. Volunteers are still a vital part of the organization.

!! BECOME A FIREFIGHTER !!

The fire department is always in need of firefighters and EMS providers. The Recruit Program has been set up to train new members. One class a year is conducted beginning in April.

The 2008 Recruit class application period has closed.

The next recruit class will be in the spring of 2009.

After making written application, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    1) Be twenty-one (21) years of age.
    2) Be a U.S citizen
    3) Must possess and keep a valid Colorado driver’s license.

If applicant meets the stated criteria, staff and recruit advisors will interview the applicant. The applicant must pass the department ability test prior to starting recruit training. Download a copy of the Recruit Program Guidelines and class schedule to see what is involved. You can even view a promotional video about the department as well as the required ability test.
